Heads up, Oisíns - Storm Oisín will be hitting Ireland and the UK next year
LATE LAST YEAR, ‘Desmond’ became the most reviled name in Ireland after a storm of the same name ripped through the country. So what names are on the block in 2017?
Met Éireann and the UK Met Office have released the storm names for next year – according to the BBC, they were selected from suggestions received from members of the public.
Along with Angus, Wilbert, and Fleur, you’ll notice that one storm has an Irish name: Oisín.
The Met Office have included a pronunciation guide in their literature (Oh-sheen – not exactly right), but all the Oisíns out there already know that means nothing. Nothing.
